Thoughts from Mark

Out of the blue. I'm in on the computer contemplating whether I'm ordering pizza for supper tonight or if we're having Totino's cook it for us, and Mark comes in from the other room.

"Mommy, I have a solution."

"Yes?"

"Okay, okay, okay. I think those guys are hiding." (He's sort of wondering where some of his favorite train toys are. He's been told that they are not his mother's responsibility.) "I think they're playing hide and seek."

Now he's "It" and looking for the hiding trains.

The problem playing Hide and Seek with inanimate objects is that, when you're looking for your brother or cousin or uncle, you're likely to see the curtain moving or hear someone giggling or something like that, but toy trains can be very very very quiet.

Hmmm.

My help has been requested.

Darn snowbirds

Mark looked out the window at the cold little birds eating from our bird feeder this morning.

"I don't want the snowbirds here!" he said. (He has been anxious for spring, and with the little cold snap we're having right now, he's a little annoyed.)

"I know," I told him, truly sympathetic because it's blinkin' cold out there!

"I think they should go away from here," Mark said. "They should go to ANTARCTICA!"

Grin.
